Orsa Minore
L’Orsa Minore (coordinate: 15h ; + 70°) è una costellazione del cielo settentrionale. È una delle 88 costellazioni moderne, ma era già tra le 48 costellazioni elencate da Tolomeo. È particolarmente nota perché al suo interno si trova il polo nord celeste, in corrispondenza della Stella Polare.
Dato che la Stella Polare corrisponde al polo nord celeste, essa è apparentemente ferma nel cielo, mentre tutte le altre stelle e costellazioni sembrano ruotarle attorno.
Le stelle più visibili dell’Orsa Minore:
- Polaris (α Ursae Minoris, la Stella Polare)
- Kochab (β Ursae Minoris)
- Pherkad (γ Ursae Minoris)
